It's been a very cold February and the first few days of March. We've had record rains, it's been snowing at lower altitudes than it has in decades and even the Hollywood sign had snow on it. There's snow on the hill overlooking Burbank and snow in the La Crescenta Valley on the other side of the San Fernando Valley, at 1400 feet. Right now it is cold and windy, lows in the 40's and highs in the 50's. I'm eagerly awaiting for it all to pass and to enjoy warm Spring weather so I can ride my new bike and get some much-needed exercise.

I've got some shows coming up with Airiel and Deserta, The Church and Letting Up Despite Great Faults with Draag as well as the Cruel World Festival in May. I also got to enjoy the Ride/Charlatans show at the Wiltern and caught up with friends including Charles Motorbike, Keith, Tony and Daanon.

I'll get to meet Tina and The Hams and Factory guitarist Damian Frood, coming from Australia this April, which will be a treat.

The station has been down for the better part of a day and I hope to see it back up tomorrow. Something to do with too many similar genre tags. I can't get into the library or load songs. But the folks in Greece, where Radiojar is located are working on it and I'm confident they'll fix things before our weekend shows begin airing.

Brandon Dudley has a new show called Souvlaki Bass Station and for two hours on the first Sunday of the month at 1pm and 9pm PT your ears will be graced with songs focusing on the bottom end, the bassists that keep the songs moving and laying down the melodies for the singers and guitarists to follow. If you don't know Brandon, he is the bassist for the band Echodrone, a band I love, full of talented musicians and with a large enough and far-ranging catalogue that fans of many styles and genres should find something to enjoy. They also know their way around a cover or two. Echodrone has done a show where each member played and introduced songs and Brandon has also done two anniversary shows for Eardrum Buzz Radio. I've seen the playlist for his first Souvlaki Bass Station show and it is amazing. You can find the shows on Podbean the rest of the month.

Keeley Moss' show Keeley's Blissed-Out Bangers has also been on weekly for five weeks now and each show is just so much fun! Be sure to listen Sundays at 12pm & 8pm PT for a fun hour of classics and recent releases. Keeley's enthusiasm is infectious!

We're still selling shirts and hoodies on Bonfire and taking subscriptions for Patreon too. I've added merchandise for the Absolute Legend tier that includes a sticker, mugs, prints and totes, each with a different design. For $20 a month you can receive all of those items as well as exclusive mixes and you get to hear our twice-monthly Vapour Trail Live a week before the rest of the world, if you missed it on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at 6pm-9pm PT. You can also become a Patron for as little as $5 a month and get the mixes and advances of Vapour Trail Live. If you give $10 a month you'll get a mug with one of our many logos designed by Tony Bennet. All tiers get a discount on the Bonfire merch too, including Mindy Scurto's Evolve design. Help support Eardrum Buzz Radio and get stuff!

You can hear past Vapour Trail Live and guest shows at our podbean page and download for later listening. Leave a comment and tell us what you think!

We have new shirts! Tony Burnett has been working on designs for what seems like the better part of 2022 and finally turned in some amazing logos and designs for Eardrum Buzz Radio. We made our first sale on the day of posting about it. The first print doesn't have a name yet, so if you can think of one, let me know at bret@eardrumbuzz.net and I'll send you a T-Shirt. You can find the new shirts here. Mindy Scurto's "Evolve" design is also in the store here.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A MORNING DJ to entertain and educate our audience in the hours between 7am-2pm PST Mondays-Thursdays, for at least 3 hours. Preferably live but recorded is fine too. Wherever you're from, if you have the time, please contact me at bret@eardrumbuzz.net.

We're also looking for DJ's for regular shows, monthly, twice monthly or even weekly if you have the time. You must be willing to learn the server, load and schedule your shows and to promote your shows and Eardrum Buzz Radio. I'm pretty open about styles, but if you've heard the station for at least an hour, you know what we play. If you are reliable, have personality, love great music and possess the slightest technical abilities, please contact bret@eardrumbuzz.net with "DJ Enquiry" in the email subject line.

Greg Peters, Meagan Masingill and myself had our First Tracks Vapour Trail Live a few weeks ago and while I made it almost 3 hours, Greg and Meagan went on for a few more hours. It was great fun and I hope to revisit that theme again.

By becoming a Patron you can hear our Vapour Trail Lives where all three of us participate before anyone else gets it on Podbean. This month Patreons get to hear the five hour version while the rest of the world gets the three hour version.

What would you like to get or hear for becoming an Eardrum Buzz Radio Patron?

If you can wait to hear Vapour Trail live online, go to eardrumbuzzradio.podbean.com and listen to our shows there or download for later listening. You can also find many of our guest DJ shows from the likes of Letting Up Despite Great Faults and Echodrone.

Stephane, aka DJ Wampas has a new (to us) show on Eardrum Buzz Radio called Shoegaze Dreams and you can hear it on the 3rd Sundays at 10am & 6pm Pacific. Sound Is Deep In The Dark is on the 1st Sundays at the same times. Shows replay the following week. Both shows are now one hour long. DJ Wampas always digs up the most deserving independent bands from around the world and you'll be sure to find a new favorite band every time.

Madame Maledicta has moved on to other adventures to showcase the latest musical releases. You can find her at: mixcloud.com/mme_Maledicta

I will miss tuning into the station Monday-Thursday to hear her great taste in music, her endless enthusiasm and rambling stories about her life. I also enjoyed when she talked about the history of bands and her shows were always fun.

John Treanor has put his The Bitter Seas show on hold while he gets ready to play live and release his new album with Tombstones In Their Eyes. We wish the best to John and hope he can return in some form or other down the line. If you haven't heard or seen his band TITE, be sure to give them a listen and see them live if you get a chance! tombstonesswc.bandcamp.com

We've got some leads for new DJ's. When I know, you'll know but they might include a bassist with bangs, another bassist that has done two previous shows and a blonde singer from Ireland with an upbeat attitude.

That's it for this month!

Looking back at the year so far, I could talk politics, celebrities, TV and movies. But it always comes down to the music for me. It almost always fits, I pick and choose who to support by purchasing the songs on Bandcamp or from the band or label's websites, whether in digital, CD or vinyl form, always asking myself "Does this speak to me?" or "Would my listeners like this song/artist?". My choices of sounds have broadened and softened over the two and a half years since starting Eardrum Buzz Radio and I'm consistently finding new and interesting artists to play, to listen to on my own time and making sure my own ears can handle the sounds. Having tinnitus as well as knowing what I like are factors even more so as I grow and evolve.

You can hear the latest songs added to Eardrum Buzz Radio on The Current Buzz block weekdays from 3pm-6pm PST.

John Wellby and Lesa Hannah had their first show on Eardrum Buzz Radio this last month, trading vocal duties between songs. Their one hour show is Fuzz Delay Reverb and you can hear it now on Sundays at 11am and 7pm PST with replays the following weeks. Visit them at: facebook.com/fuzzdelay

I've also begun two merch stores!

Now you can buy shirts, pullovers and hoodies at eardrumbuzz.net/store! Mindy Scurto of MK Studio has designed our first shirt design I call "Evolve". Please support the station by purchasing a shirt and telling people about the store. Become a Patron and get a 10% discount. Go to patreon.com/eardrumbuzzradio and find out more. We also have shirts, mugs, totes and hats.

You can reach Mindy Scurto to design something for you at: facebook.com/MKStudiosgraphicdesign

Speaking of Patreon, you can also support the station for as little as $5 a month. I know you spend more than that for a cup or two of coffee so please consider sending a few dollars our way to help cover the costs of running an online station. You'll get a code for discounts on Bonfire merch as well as hear live shows first and exclusive mixes. I'll also record Shout Outs with your name that play throughout the day at Eardrum Buzz Radio.
